This course offers students the opportunity to engage with the depth and breadth of Irish culture through its rich and vibrant literary tradition. It includes works by James Joyce, Edna O’Brien, John McGahern, Anne Enright, and Sally Rooney, along with the increasingly diverse voices that are writing and redefining contemporary Ireland and Irishness. Perspectives such as ecocriticism and post-colonial theory inform the reading of texts.
