During your last semester, you will complete two full-time clinical externships to finalize your preparation for your career speech-language pathology. You will have an extensive network of clinical affiliates to choose from — ranging from rehabilitation hospitals in Alberta, Canada, to preschools in Newark, New York. These experiences off-campus enrich your graduate experience by preparing you for action in the field in a variety of settings.
Students are usually able to complete their clinical externships throughout the country. However, some states may elect to institute restrictions on externship experiences that hamper or prohibit externship affiliation agreements; such decisions are outside the control of Ithaca College. The department provides students opportunities to complete their externships in a timely manner, but we are not able to guarantee the location of available sites in any given semester. Canadian students should plan on completing their externships within the United States.
