Dept. Chair Alicia Swords publishes book analyzing social movements

Headshot of Dr. Alicia Swords

Social Change: Movements, Politics, and Technology examines social transformation from a conflict theory perspective. It builds on the historical and sociological analysis of leaders within contemporary social movements, including the movement to end poverty. In the tradition of public, engaged sociology, this book acknowledges a commitment to social justice and examines social change as dynamic relations, often struggles, among social actors.
