Advice From Junior

What factors contribute(d) to your success?

Networking and interning! I would have not been able to secure an interview if I did not have an internship under the same holding company (Omnicom Health Group) in the summer prior. Not only that, but I made sure to keep in touch with the person who recruited me for my internship and he ended up sending my resume out to other recruiters, which helped tremendously in coming across this position.

What advice would you offer to students?

I would advise students to make sure they are utilizing all of their resources, especially Career Services. Career Services can help with resumes, cover letters, interview prep, even networking! Speaking of networking, I would also recommend doing that as much as possible. It is important to make sure you are genuinely reaching out every few months or so and not only when you need something. Additionally, you should go over what you want to say in an interview BEFORE the actual interview. Make sure you are comfortable talking about anything on your resume because it could come up. This also includes examples that are not on your resume so it does not seem as though you are just reading it off.
