Technology Learning Center
The Technology Learning Center (TLC) provides instructor-led workshops, closed workshops, one on one training, drop-in consulting services, online tutorials, and technical documentation. The TLC Trainer team collaborates to provide the Ithaca College user community with a comprehensive set of training and documentation services to support the most popular application areas, such as:
- Sakai (course management system)
- Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Outlook Email/Calendar, PowerPoint)
- Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Web Profile Manager ( Faculty sites, Staff sites, Department sites, Student Organization sites)
- Microsoft Access (database design)
- Taskstream (DRF and ePortfolio)
- Operating Systems (OS X and Windows 7)
Instructor-led Workshops ► Sign Up!
We provide workshops, covering a wide variety of applications, that are available to all Ithaca College staff, faculty, and students. These workshops are provided free of charge in Friends Hall 101 on a daily basis while class is in session.
Workshops for Groups ► Request a Workshop!
Please submit a request if you would like us to provide training for your group. We offer closed workshops by request on any of our standard topics.
One to One Training ► Request Training!
Please submit a request if you would like to work with a TLC Training Specialist in a one on one session. These sessions are offered in 30 minute or 60 minute time blocks during standard TLC hours. We will work with you to schedule time with a trainer who specializes in the area you are interested in.
Drop-in Consulting Services
TLC Trainers are available in the TLC (101 Friends Hall) from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday to provide faculty, staff, and students with drop-in consulting assistance on supported computer applications, such as Sakai, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook), ePortfolios, Web Profile Manager, Adobe Products (Acrobat Pro, InDesign, Photoshop), scanning, and other technology topics.
Software Application Support
Documentation, support levels and other information about commonly used campus software is available in this section. Software that is available on every faculty and staff workstation is part of the IC Software Bundle. The software has been categorized by type or usage.
