Understand how visitors use your site, and what to do with those insights.

The web team provides analytics reports to help you make informed decisions about your content. Whether you want to know which pages get the most traffic, where visitors drop off, or how people find your site, we can help you get the data you need.

What We Track

We use several tools to understand how visitors interact with ithaca.edu:

Google Analytics (GA4) Our primary analytics platform. GA4 tracks pageviews, sessions, user journeys, traffic sources, and conversions. It helps us understand what content performs well, how visitors navigate the site, and where they come from—whether that's search engines, social media, email campaigns, or direct visits.

Google Search Console Shows how ithaca.edu appears in Google search results. We use it to monitor which search queries bring visitors to the site, how often our pages appear in results, and whether any technical issues are affecting search visibility.

Microsoft Clarity A behavior analytics tool that provides heatmaps and session recordings. Clarity helps us see where visitors click, how far they scroll, and where they might encounter friction. This is especially useful for identifying usability issues and improving page layouts.

How we handle data All analytics data is anonymized and aggregated. The IC Web Team cannot track individual users by name or personal identifiers. Our use of these tools complies with IC's privacy practices.
