Based on student feedback we recognize that not everyone can travel home over the winter holiday. This year we have two residence halls, Tallcott Hall and Terrace 6, that will remain open during Winter Break.
If you are not currently living in one of these residence halls, and you are interested in relocating to one of these halls so you can take advantage of this program, please visit the Room Change page for information on requesting a room change.
If you need to stay in your residential area at any point during Winter Break, (December 18, 2025 through January 16, 2026), please complete the Winter Break Registration Form. Limited services are available during break housing periods.
If you cannot leave by Noon on December 18th, please submit a late departure form. You must receive written approval from the Office of Residential Life to remain past closing. No one can remain beyond 10am on Monday, December 22, 2025.
Residence halls will open for break housing at 1:00pm on Thursday, January 1, 2026. If you need to return at any point between January 1, 2026 and when the buildings reopen on Saturday, January 17, 2026, please complete the Winter Break Registration Form. Move in for the spring semester is Friday, January 16, 2026 - Sunday, January 18, 2026 from 9:00am-6:00pm. Circle residents will check in at the Circles Area Office located in the Circles Community Center. Students living in the Garden Apartments, Quads, Towers, or Terraces will check in at the East Tower first floor lobby.
If you are required to arrive early due to on campus employment in an essential office, athletics, or academics, the early arrival request must be submitted by your employment supervisor, coach, or academic school. If you need to arrive early due to travel or other extenuating circumstances, please submit an Spring Early Arrival Request. Requests will be approved when possible, depending on reason and availability of the specific room or apartment assignment.
