Who likes to look at a pool? Wouldn’t you rather dive in? Unlike so many schools that want to teach you about business, we want you to immerse yourself in it from day one. With the range of activities and opportunities at IC’s School of Business, you could spend every day learning about business – speaker events, activities, experiences, clubs. Here are just a few examples…

Practical, Real-World Education
Finance
You say you’re interested in finance? Join our Core Trading Consultants, a club that, over your four years, will give you progressive responsibility in managing a student-run mutual fund. Travel to Wall Street and visit a range of major financial services employers on our Meet the Firms trips. Get certified on industry-standard Bloomberg terminals in the Carl Sgrecci Trading Room. Manage real money in almost every course you take, as part of our South Hill Fund. Present your investment thesis for feedback from a board of savvy real-world financial services professionals on our Investment Advisory Board.
Entrepreneurship & Innovation
Perhaps you have a business idea or just want to experience an innovative startup culture. Compete for real business funding in our Demo Day competition. Get connected to Rev, our local accelerator, formed as a partnership between Ithaca College and Cornell University. Many Bombers have found internship opportunities with the companies there; welcome to start up culture. Pursue our popular minor in entrepreneurship & innovation. Meet one of the many successful entrepreneurs among our alumni through speaker events and class visits.
Sport
So you’re passionate about sports and wonder how to make a career of it. Dive right into sport management, managing one of our club teams in your very first semester. Join one of our field experiences working major sporting events from the Olympics to the Super Bowl. Intern with our outstanding athletics programs, one of the best Division III programs in the nation.
Connect with events and speakers across campus, where other Bombers are preparing for sports jobs in health sciences and broadcasting. Join a range of sports related clubs. Work on real-world class projects like doing a marketing project for the New York Islanders or running the social media strategy for the Cornell Women’s Ice Hockey team.
And So Much More
These are only a few of the immersion opportunities the School offers. Maybe you’re passionate about sustainability or accounting (or maybe both). Perhaps you’re looking to work on data analytics projects or learn about careers in marketing. Our student clubs and associations play an active part in supporting a wide range of student interests—enriching the classroom experience with trips, competitions, and community service projects.
