AI Programming and Events for Faculty

This initiative includes four levels of faculty engagement to allow multiple opportunities to learn and apply AI to course practices. Whether you are looking to get started or want to go deeper into the use of AI, each level builds on prior experiences and understanding of artificial intelligence and its application to teaching and learning.

Learning Opportunities for Faculty

Throughout the 2025-2026 academic year, members of the Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) and the Center for Instructional Design & Educational Technology (CIE) will facilitate the following events, along with more to be announced. These events and programming are open to all faculty members at Ithaca College.

  • Guest expert presenter Lance Eaton - AI@IC A Day of Learning
  • Facilitated workshops and discussions - Coffee & Conversations: Topics in AI's Role in Teaching and Learning
  • Faculty Learning Network - AI community of practice
  • Teaching with AI Book Groups


Details about events and ways for faculty members to become involved will be announced via Intercom announcements, IC Engage, Canvas Announcements, and direct emails. Keep an eye out for these bulletins.

AI Digital Literacy Initiative

AI Mini-Grants

Ten faculty (five per semester in 2025–2026) will each receive a stipend to pilot AI integration into an instructional unit. Projects may include a lesson redesign or an AI-based assessment. The faculty will present outcomes and submit summaries for institutional sharing.

AI Digital Literacy Institute

Faculty can apply to participate in a semester-long hybrid institute to deepen their understanding of AI and the application of skills, ethics, and tools in teaching and learning. Up to 20 faculty members will be selected to participate based on applications.

AI Literacy Institute details
AI and Course Redesign

Faculty members who complete the AI Literacy Institute may apply for a stipend to redesign a course. The redesign will integrate AI concepts throughout instruction, assignments, and assessments, with implementation occurring in 2026–2027.
