New this year!

The Sonare program is geared towards pre-college, concerto level cellists.
Auditions for the Sonare Program will be accepted between January 3rd and February 15th, 2026.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to bring together motivated cellists who value connection with others; exploration of new ideas and concepts; and a love of music. We prioritize a balance of healthy effort with a deep link to joy and camaraderie, and believe that when we share this with the community at large that we create magic. Come make magic with us!

Typical Day

A typical day at Sonare will involve a semi-private lesson, technique class, cello ensemble rehearsal, piano coaching, and individual practice time. Throughout the two weeks, there will be performances, masterclasses, social practice hours, and moderated discussions on topics related to cello performance.

Audition Requirements

  • One movement of a standard concerto (exposition only)
  • Contrasting piece, preferably by a living or unrepresented composer

Auditions will be accepted between January 3rd and February 15th, 2026.
