High School Investment Competition

About the Competition

The High School Investment Competition brings real-world investment tactics into the classroom.  Ithaca College School of Business invites high school teams in the northeast to compete in the 4th Annual Investment Competition where students will learn basic principles in the stock market, various sectors, and fundamentals of real-time trading, and the opportunity to win great prizes!

How It Works

Teams composed of 3-6 student members ranging from 10th to 12th grades will receive $500,000 in virtual US dollars will build a portfolio that consists of five to twenty stocks. After their initial investment, teams will have a series of four check-points where they can reallocate their funds.  Portfolios will be scored and posted each week.  At the conclusion of the competition, awards will be given out to the top three earning portfolios.  See complete competition guidelines here.

2016 - 2017 Competition Information

Thank you for your interest in this years Ithaca College High School Investment Competition!  We are very excited to announce the timeline as well as some major improvements from prior competition.  As a result of these changes, the rules for the competition have changed.  Please be sure to review the rules for the 2016-2017 competition.

Timeline and important dates of the competition:
October 14th-October 28, 2016--Registration of all team members and faculty advisors
October 31st, 2016-Start of the competition and first day of trading.  
March 10th, 2017-Competition closes at 4pm.

Some of the major changes to the competition are:

All trades must be submitted using the http://ithaca.stocktrak.com/ website as well.  
Trading will be allowed every Friday of the competition (as well as the first day of the competition, October 31st, 2016)

All team members must register
All team members must register during the same session 

Prizes (all split between the winning team and their high school):
$5000 for First Place
$3000 for Second Place 
$2000 for Third Place
