Tutorial for Managing Content Editors within a Site-Group

You must first be signed-in to Drupal, and have the "Administrator" role within the site-group.

Locating Site-Group Members

Site Group Membership View

Example of the Site Group Membership view (Step 3)

Step 1

As a signed-in user, click "My Content" from the admin toolbar at the top of the window.

Step 2

Click the "Site Groups" tab to view your site-groups.

Step 3

Locate a site-group for which you've been provisioned the Admin role. This is required to manage other site-group members. Click "View Group" next to the site-group you've identified.

Step 4

Click the "Members" tab from the site-group view.

You are viewing all members of the site-group.

Adding New Members to a Site Group

Step 1

From the "Members" tab, click the "Add member" button in the top-right of the member view.

Step 2

In the field provided, begin typing the name of the person you want to add. Members are identified by their ID, which is the part of their Ithaca email address that comes before "@ithaca.edu" (for example, "jsmith"). Select the correct person from the list of matches.

Step 3

Choose one of three roles for the new member: Admin, Publisher, or Reviewer. Each role grants a different level of access within the site-group. For a breakdown of what each role can do, see Site-Group Level Permissions.

Step 4

Click "Save" to add the person to your site-group. They will now appear in the member list.

Modifying an Existing Site-Group Member

Step 1

In the "Members" tab, find the person whose role you want to change. Click the dropdown arrow next to the "View member" button for that person.

Step 2

Select "Edit member" from the dropdown.

Step 3

Choose a new role: Admin, Publisher, or Reviewer. For details on what each role can do, see Site-Group Level Permissions.

Step 4

Click "Save" to apply the change.

Removing an Existing Site-Group Member

Step 1

In the "Members" tab, find the person you want to remove. Click the dropdown arrow next to the "View member" button for that person.

Step 2

Select "Remove member" from the dropdown. You'll be redirected to a confirmation page.

Step 3

Click "Delete" to confirm the removal. The person will no longer have access to this site-group. Removing someone from a site-group does not delete their Drupal account or affect their access to any other site-groups they belong to.
