Writing Alumna Erika Walsh('18) is one of 2026's nine winners of the AWP Intro Journal Project in Prose. Prose winners were selected by Allegra Solomon (fiction) and Christina Rivera (creative nonfiction). Walsh's winning essay “I Feel Just Like Mary Toft” will appear in Tampa Review.

Walsh holds an M.F.A. from the University of Alabama and has had both poetry and prose published in journals including Ninth Letter, The Offing, DIAGRAM, Booth, Hotel Amerika, and elsewhere.
