In accordance with New York State Law (NYS EDN Article 129-A, section 6433), Ithaca College is required to publish a hate crime log that is accessible to the public and provides details on hate crimes occurring on campus over the past three years. 

As defined by New York State Penal Law § 485.05, a hate crime is committed when an individual engages in a specified criminal offense and either intentionally carries out the act or deliberately selects the person targeted, either wholly or substantially, due to a belief or perception regarding the individual's race, color, national origin, ancestry, gender, religion, religious practice, age, disability, or sexual orientation, irrespective of the accuracy of such belief or perception.
