2.8.5 Campus Crime Statistics

In accordance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), the Office of Public Safety publishes annual crime statistics for certain crimes and incidents reported to have occurred on campus, in non-campus buildings or properties owned or leased by Ithaca College, and on public property immediately adjacent to the campus.

Under the Clery Act, reportable crimes include murder, manslaughter, sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, motor vehicle theft, arson, hate crimes, hazing, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, as well as arrests and disciplinary referrals for liquor law violations, drug law violations, and weapons possession. These statistics are compiled from reports made to Public Safety, Title IX, Residential Life and Student Conduct, and other designated campus officials as well as local law enforcement agencies.

The Office of Public Safety discloses campus crime statistics on an annual basis via the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report and submits statistical data to the United States Department of Education. For more timely information about crimes and incidents at Ithaca College, individuals may review the Daily Crime & Fire Log, which is publicly available at www.ithaca.edu/safety.

We encourage all members of our community to review these statistics and to report any incidents of crime or suspicious activity to the Office of Public Safety.
