How can I find out about jobs and internships?

Try looking at the databases below for everything from volunteer work to faculty positions at research institutions. If you want to look at a broad range of possible careers in the field of biology, the website of the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology has published an index page entitled Careers in Biology.

There are many job boards that list biology jobs, such as:

    • After College is the largest career network specializing in recruitment at the college level
    • employers such as Agilent, Covance and Schlumberger now have opportunities available for science majors

    Oceans Research Institute in Mossel Bay, South Africa has research internships available.  During their month long experiential field research program, students gain hands-on practical training in conducting a wide range of research projects, from population to movement ecology projects on large marine megafauna (including white sharks and cetaceans), from intertidal community biodiversity assessments to fishery related research.

    NOYCE 2020 Summer Internship Application

    Numerade hires students who generally excel in STEM subjects. They compensate students to help create short how-to videos in common STEM subjects. These videos get viewed by thousands of other students looking for support in their studies.

    The Muscular Dystrophy Association is looking for voluneers for their summer camp.   Information about all camp sessions can be found at Interested Volunteers. The majority of their NY campers will be attending one of the following camp weeks:
